The IRL ("in real life") team is looking for a full-time manager in the Cambridge/North Essex area.

Our mission is to introduce children aged 6-14 to the diverse world of coding by running exciting, term-time clubs with individually tailored, hands-on challenges and games. We also run action-packed holiday gaming sessions, during which children play in virtual reality, play together in Minecraft, and compete in console tournaments.

We are looking for someone to join the team and help us take this fantastic product forward. You don't need to have ANY coding experience, we are looking for a manager who can help us organise, grow and build relationships within local communities. We are looking to grow this role around the perfect individual - This position is FULL-TIME.

Our ideal candidate:
Loves working with children.
Passionate about technology.
A keen gamer.
Great at communicating and able to make learning fun.
Confident with computers and has good IT literacy.
Super confident around children (and their grown-ups!)
Available during our core hours of Monday to Friday, between 12 and 8pm (some flexibility available).
A creative personality, and can come up with original ideas for our new mini-projects, activities and local events.

Duties:
Management duties
Overseeing all clubs and other mentors to ensure club delivery is at a high standard.
Open new clubs and expand your area, managing the team and recruitment.
Ensure the philosophy of The Code Zone is at the heart of everything.
Work with local schools, councils and other organisations to put on events and outreach activities.
Club mentoring duties
Co-leading in-person coding and tech clubs, for children between 6-14 years of age. Don't worry, you'll be with a coding expert, and we will train you with all the skills required to succeed.
Nurturing and supporting the children's learning development and creations.
Stopping children from being Jumanji'd in VR.

Must-haves:
Demonstrable leadership experience, managing a team.
A driving license and use of a car. There is also the potential opportunity to car pool with colleagues.
Reliable and professional.
Infectious enthusiasm.
Nice to have's (not essential):
Some teaching or coaching experience would be handy.
Business development, sales or customer service experience.

We provide:
Full training and support.
First Aid training where required
All leaders will require a DBS check, which we will do.
All equipment and club content - leaders are responsible for looking after and identifying/resolving minor or major issues with equipment. You will receive full training and support on how to do this.
Additional hours at weekends
A great sense of achievement getting children ready for our growing technical world.
